China gets ready to launch national cryptocurrency

The People's Bank of China has finished testing digital bills of exchange, reports Caixin.

Results have brought the national regulator closer to the emission of blockchain-based cryptocurrency.

Moreover, a research institute will be set up to study such a possibility.

But it isn’t known yet whether it will be a separate entity or a part of a governmental body.

Chinese authorities were speaking about the launch of national cryptocurrency already a year ago. This information has also been confirmed by the chairman of the People’s Bank, Zhou Xiaochuan.
