US health insurance mastering blockchain

Health insurance in the United States is going to apply blockchain. UnitedHealth, the largest insurer, is going to hire a director on the development of blockchain-based products, CoinDesk reports.

A new employee will lead the development of applications and platforms for the “ubiquitous and reliable provision of medical information.”

The company said that blockchain will transform the entire health care system.

The insurance industry has made significant progress in the development of blockchain-based technologies, the website notes. In particular, a consortium consisting of ten insurance companies in China has begun to test blockchain, and this year by joint efforts, 15 European companies are planning to launch a decentralized platform.
