US DoD will apply blockchain for protection from cyberattack

The subdivision of the US Department of Defense, focusing on the development of technologies for armed forces, has financially supported companies developing blockchain-based security systems, NewsBTC reports.

The new protection system should significantly reduce the amount of cyberattacks, Tim Booher, a head of the subdivision, has commented on this issue.

According to David Hamilton, the president of Guardtime Federal contracting company, the blockchain application will help to collect evidences of security violations and use them in criminal proceedings.

Data obtained by current security systems can’t be involved in evidence in court, while the information saved in blockchain is transparent and can’t be changed, Hamilton explains.
