NASA provided a grant for developing a blockchain service for space research

NASA has allocated a grant for creating a blockchain-based service for more effective satellite control in order to avoid collisions with various celestial bodies.

The size of the grant is $330 million.

The service will be developed by a team of specialists from the University of Akron (USA), headed by Professor Jin Wei.

Scientists plan to use blockchain and AI to control satellites. To do this, the team will build a data center on the distributed ledgers of Ethereum and create an artificial intelligence specifically for this project.

Experts are convinced that with the help of innovative technologies they will be able to calculate the satellites trajectory more accurately and avoid contact with space objects, including space junk.
